Pets Are Like Children

If you had told me 15 years ago, that I would enjoy having some cats as pets, I would've told you "No way..no how!" But the realities of apartment living don't really give much opportunity in owning a dog. So we decided to get a kitten a little more than three years ago. This is Jasper to the left hamming it up on the floor. He rarely is called Jasper since he has acquired any number of pet names which a re much more entertaining such as Goose, Zazoo, Rodrigo Dondiego, and many others. One of his more recent names is Baron Von Chickenpants. He lives the life of a king and is a very much the baby of the house.
A little while later, we decided to get another kitten on March Break two years ago. She was a rescue kitten whom we named Ginger. The poor girl had been left outside in the winter and had frostbite scars on her nose, ears, and paws. She was so timid and scared when we first got her but you could never tell that now. She also been adorned with many names such as Weezy, Mama, Guadeloupe, and the very exotic Katinka Haagendasz.
