I'm not usually all that interested in the NCAA BCS games with the exception of the national championship, unless of course I think that the title game is a sham match-up and not worthy of a true national championship.
Boise State, the 9th ranked Broncos, came into the game against N0.7 Oklahoma a perfect 12-0 on the season but due to the weaker schedule and and the strengths of other powerhouse team schedules, they only made it to #9 in the college rankings. This is probably fair I would assume, but I enjoy watching the undefeated teams in the Bowl games to see if they really are a quality team or not.
Last night, I watched one of the most exciting games I've ever seen. Boise St. jumped out to a 28-10 lead only to see it vapourize as Oklahoma cam back to take a 35-28 lead. Then with less than a minute to go, the Broncos connected to force the game to OT. Everyone thought it was over.
Then on the first play of OT...Oklahoma runs it in to take a 7 point lead at 42-35. Everyone thought it was over. Then on the next drive, each team gets equal opportunity to score by the way...not the first team to score, Zabransky, the Boise St QB runs in formation and the ball is snapped to a tailback or running back who lobs it into the end zone to make it 42-41.
Just when it couldn't get any better you'd think, Boise St. goes for the win on a 2pt. conversion and runs a statue of liberty play basically and wins the game 43-42 in OT. Beautiful to watch. You've got to see the highlights if you haven't already. I'll attempt to get them posted here.
Thank you Boise State for the entertainment!!
